Background

A little about me: Here in this server since early December. Made WL r1 after a ton of time chatting in General channel, took a hit by prefunding wallet and minted anyway, first NFT purchase with every bump along the way.

Joined because I like the idea of being an investor in a “people’s collection.” One of the ~15% of NFT owners that is female. I’ve been in TV digital and social marketing for almost 20 years (I was the voice of Twin Peaks in social).

Same. DYOR converted me on the possibility it would be a people’s collection through and through. That’s a radical idea. It went halfway: investors funded the art and that’s it. If truly reshaping ownership, it should have gone all the way to include partial ownership of the art and DAO could have included when to sell and make profit like those they aimed to take the exclusivity away from.

Legal

@NaturalRebelThe non profit also has the right to use power of attorney to sell the work, leaving nothing for partial owners. To me this structure says it all - potential cash grab

They either set it up to avoid securities laws or to cash grab - maybe both. But it was def intentional

Ownership

  1. I hope the value of their professional reputations inspires this change. It’s the only solution IMHO that can bring this back to life. Search “ownership,” “own,” and DAO and that says it all. People expected to be part owner in the actual art and all that comes with it. I don’t understand why there is a foundation that operates separately. It may involve legal issues I don’t understand but NFT ownership is on a decentralized platform. Smart contract is the key. March 6, 2022 1:21 PM (EST)
